Student's Bio
Samantha MacGavin is a senior from St. Louis, Missouri majoring in Neuroscience and Medicine, Health, and Society with a minor in Spanish. She has been a member of the Mchaourab lab since her sophomore year. In the lab she studies the effect of phosphomimetic mutations in αB-crystallin on lens defects in zebrafish embryos. Once graduated, she plans to enter the medical field, with specific interests in surgery and LGBTQ+ health advocacy. When not spending all day in Central Library, she enjoys finding new music for her radio show, spending time with friends, and painting.
