Student's Bio
Karen Pu is a Sophomore majoring in Biology and Computer Science. She is interested in the intersection between the two fields; therefore, research in computational protein modeling at the Meiler lab piqued her interest. She is currently using Rosetta, a protein modeling software, to create a novel protein that contains multiple strains of influenza, designing a more efficient vaccine. Her ultimate goal is to write a general protocol that can be applied to any viral glycoprotein, including other influenza strains, Ebola virus, etc.
