Student's Bio
Hannah Noh is a Junior in the College of Arts and Sciences majoring in Medicine, Health, and Society and minoring in French. She worked with Dr. Digna Velez Edwards and Dr. Jacklyn Hellwege in the Edwards Lab at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) to study which genetic loci are associated with uterine fibroids, and how they impact gene expression in a variety of human tissues. She conducted bioinformatics and genomics research by conducting genome-wide association studies (GWAS) meta-analysis of fibroids with large DNA data sets provided by the VUMC. This research project will contribute to an active area of genomics research, evaluate genome-by-environment interactions, and study women’s health disparities in uterine fibroid diagnoses.
