Student's Bio
Alex Shiino is a senior majoring in Neuroscience. He has been working with Dr. Katherine McDonell under Claassen Lab since Sophomore year to study risky and impulsive behavior manifested in prodromal and symptomatic Huntington's Disease population. He published “Risk-taking Behavior in Huntington’s Disease” as a co-author in the Journal of Huntington’s Disease. Last summer, he worked on an independent project where he investigated early cognitive and behavioral symptoms in the offspring of parents with Huntington’s disease. Specifically, he looked at how Huntington’s Disease affect inhibitory control in these populations through the Flanker Task and Event-Related Potential.
